Violin
Degree in Violin from Seville's Advanced Conservatory, She begins her violin and ballet training at 8 years of age . She receives the Young Performer's Award and has her first violin recital at 11 years of age . She studies at a professional level with Olga Virkomiskaya ( Badajoz Conservatory) and with Roberto Mendoza (Joaquín Turina Conservatory).
She later studies at London's Royal Academy of Music under Clarence Myerscough and in Madrid with Ara Malikian. During her training, she works with leading figures in the music world, such as Gunter Schuller, Reinhard Goebel and Enrico Onofri.
She was a member of JONDE (Spain's National Young Orchestra ) and has collaborated with various professional orchestras, such as the OEX.
As a stage musician, she participates in the National Company of Classical Theatre's productions of ¿De cuándo acá nos vino? and "Tales of Impertinent Curiosity" . She is introduced to the art of flamenco dance at Amor the Dios School and to the world of contemporary instrumental tango music with Ariel Hernandez Quartet , from which the duo group In Extremis is born, alongside double bass player Lila Horovitz.
In June 2013 , she graduates from Madrid's Advanced Conservatory with a degree in Baroque Violin and Early Music under professors Alberto Martínez and Hiro Kurosaki. Within this field, she collaborates with the baroque groups La Capilla Real de Madrid and Hipocampus.
In 2012 she begins the creation and production of the project "The Funamviolistas" with Lila Horovitz and Mayte Olmedilla, currently combining the company's performances with her teaching and musical activities..
María Teresa Olmedilla
Viola
She begins her musical studies at the age of ten in Albacete. She graduates from Seville's Manuel Castillo Advanced Conservatory with a degree in Viola, under the Professor Alvaro Arrans. In Austria, she does her post-graduate studies at the Universität Mozarteum, (Salzburg) and at the Konservatorium Privatum Universität (Vienna), where she works with such experts as Veronica Hagen, Peter Langgartner, Hans Graff and Rainer Schmidt. She has studied under great Spanish violists, as well as with many other internationally renowned artists as Jesse Levine, Brunno Giuranna and Francois Genier.
She has worked with several Spanish orchestras and, in 2007 , went on a summer international tour with de French orchestra L'Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée. She has done many recordings for film, specifically collaborating with the composer Roque Baños, and has gained a lot of experience in chamber music. She has shared the stage with artists such as Frank Batiatto, Ainoha Arteta, Estrella Morente, Loran Korcia, Fazil Say and Asier Polo. She has also done musicals and symphonic rock tours.
She taught viola at the Guadalajara Advanced Conservatory and currently teaches at the Joaquin Rodrigo School in Aranjuez.
She has a degree in Philosophy from Madrid's Complutense University and in Dramatic Arts from Madrid's Royal School for Dramatic Arts ( RESAD) specializing in Musical Theatre.
She is currently producer and creator of the show The Funamviolistas, winner of the Talent Award for Best Musical 2013 and the 2014 Max Theatre Award for Breakthrough Show of the Year.
Lila Horovitz
Double Bass
Argentinean double bass player, electric bass player, composer and musical arranger . Graduate School of Avellaneda's School for Popular Music in , Buenos Aires, Argentina specializing in Argentinean Tango and Folklore.
She has performed in the world's most important International Tango Festivals (Finland, France, Germany, USA, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Holland and Argentina). Between 1999 and 2004 She joined the quintet of the great Argentine singer Susana Rinaldi recording three of her albums. She has worked with the Andorra Chamber Orchestra , the Orchestra of the City of Ceuta and in Valencia's Palau de la Música's Chamber Music Series..
As a composer, Lila Horovitz's works for double bass have been performed by such great double bass players as American Gary Karr, Polish artist Irena Olkiewicz and by the Tango Orchestra of Buenos Aires, among others.
As a teacher, she periodically gives tango workshops for music students and to professional musicians in Spain, Europa and the USA.
She presented her first solo album: "Preludio del Primer Día" in the International Society of Bassist's Convention under the sponsorship of the string brand "Thomastik-Infeld" and toured Spain 2010 and 2011 under the auspices of the Regional Government of Andalucía.. She joins the group of artists of the prestigious Cirque du Soleil after auditioning for them in Paris in 2011.
She is creator, performer and producer of the show "The Funamviolistas", alongside M. Teresa Olmedilla and Ana Hernández.
